The front page of the Style Tribe blog immediately captures the reader's attention.
"Fashion is Buying, Style is Being."
It sets the tone: This is art. And that's what the whole blog feels like; artwork. The posts have a unique writing style that captures her personality, she's funny, quirky, and has little mannerisms that are endearing to read (I almost made a joke about how read is dear backwards and then I realised that wasn't true). She spouts off little thoughts, ideas and comments that seem to come off the top of her head.
I wish I could say more, but the thing is, it isn't updated regularily. That really annoys me because this blog has the potential to be a 7, or 7.5 if it had regular posts. Now, I'm sure the blogger is a very busy person, but her writing style is somewhat addictive so it drives me crazy that I don't have more to read. If I did, this next part would be easier.
Features
- Writing Style: Magnificent I feel as if I'm reading a novelist, her writing is very conversational and charming. Though her posts can be paragraphs long or sentences long, it all has the page-turning (if in fact there were pages to be turned instead of next buttons to be clicked) quality of a magazine.
- Interaction good, but could be Improved It appears to be that she replies to comments, which is always a comforting thing to find. I do think she could improve on it more, have polls, questionairres, or anything really.
- Posts Irregular *sigh* It's really painful for me to have an unbiased perspective here when this blog is really charming and the style hits an art nerve in me. But I must remain unbiased and say that yes--she does not have regular posts!!!
- Layout Intriguing Like the entire blog the layout and design is artsy and intriguing, the logo/title is thoughtful and attractive, and the simplicity is non-distracting, drawing attention to titles and pictures.
I am being a bit biased here, and giving this blog a 6.5. I really should give less for lack of posts, but maybe it's like really rich dark chocolate cake, and you've got to have it in little doses, every once in a while.
J'adore une blog, charming, quirky, artsy, but I've got to knock off points for irregularity. CHECK THIS BLOG OUT.
Incentive to write,
Nicole
